Job summary

The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Care Support Worker to provide nursing support in the orthopaedic ward. You will assist with pre/post operative care and ensure safe, harm-free care for inpatients.

You will support the senior nursing team with mandatory training, information governance and attendance, and work with the multidisciplinary team to maintain patient safety at all times.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Healthcare or Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English and Maths Grade D-G).
  • Care Certificate.

Job summary

To provide nursing care to patients who admitted to the ward for elective orthopaedic surgery.


To deliver harm free care and ensure inpatients have the correct pre and post operative care.


To give support and ensure all patients are signposted to the relevant services post operatively.

  • NVQ Level 3 in Healthcare or a Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship - or equivalent experience

  • Experience of working as a Care Support Worker or equivalent in a Health or Social care setting

  • Experience of working within a team


Desirable


  • Demonstrates an interest or previous experience in supporting other health care staff and learners

  • Commitment to undertaking continuous professional development (CPD)

  • Good communication (written and verbal skills)
