Job Description

Great opportunity to join our team as a Health & Benefits - Group Risk Consultant working hybrid within the risk and healthcare consulting team. In this role, you will be responsible for advising our clients on all aspects of managing the health of their workforce, including advising on and implementing risk and other health-related insurances, which are a key aspect of this service.

The team handles all aspects of group insurance, from market broking exercises to ongoing administration and consulting of client arrangements, including inquiries related to renewals, funding, underwriting, and benefits. This includes private medical insurance, healthcare policies (dental, cash plan, optical, health screens, travel, PA, and perks), as well as registered and exempted group life assurance, death-in-service pensions, group income protection, critical illness, spouse/partner life assurance, and policies placed via the Lloyd's market.

The Role

To work with WTW Consultants and its clients on the provision and selection of risk and other health-related insurances.

  1. Provide strategic consultative advice to clients on the design, delivery, and ongoing management of their benefit programs, collaborating with other team members.
  2. Proactively update knowledge of legislative changes through discussions with colleagues and reading relevant publications, applying this knowledge to daily work.
  3. Manage provider relationships for your client base using negotiation and influencing skills.
  4. Service, consult, and retain existing clients with high levels of service and credibility.
  5. Plan and organize renewals.
  6. Design and redesign benefits.
  7. Liaise with providers and insurers for information.
  8. Assist with re-broking exercises, analyzing, and verifying provider contract terms.
  9. Handle client queries.
  10. Maintain quality control procedures.
The Requirements
  • Experience in risk benefits is essential; healthcare benefits experience is advantageous from an advisory background.
  • Comprehensive, up-to-date technical knowledge and practical experience in Employee Benefits.
  • Strong understanding of group risk and healthcare policies and providers, ideally supported by GR1 and/or IF7 qualifications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Quick learner, proactive, and organized.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a professional environment.
  • An understanding of broader employee health issues, international coverage, wellbeing, and technology platforms is advantageous for future progression.
