Mostly Remote Role | Health & Wellbeing Practitioner | JM 4660/2608 | Competitive Market Rate | 37 hours per week | Contract Length: 5 months | Location: Manchester – predominantly remote with occasional office visits
Responsibilities
- Conduct a diagnostic review of current workplace adjustment processes, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Produce a practical report with clear recommendations to:
- Improve efficiency and accessibility for colleagues requiring adjustments.
- Support managers in fulfilling their responsibilities.
- Ensure compliance with the Equality Act 2010 and organisational values.
- Draft and present an updated Workplace Adjustments Policy, ensuring clarity, fairness, and usability.
- Design a clear process flow for handling adjustments, including the role of central case management support.
- Engage stakeholders through interviews and workshops, incorporating feedback into recommendations and policy updates.
- Explore options for managing workplace adjustment costs, including a potential central budget.
- Develop a phased implementation plan, highlighting quick wins and clear ownership of actions.
Essentials
- Demonstrable experience as a Health & Wellbeing Practitioner or in a similar role, with strong expertise in workplace adjustments and disability inclusion.
- In-depth knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 and employer obligations regarding reasonable adjustments.
- Proven experience drafting or updating policies and processes to improve organisational practice.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience facilitating workshops or interviews.
- Ability to analyse issues and produce actionable, evidence-based recommendations.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with attention to detail.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a large public-sector or health-related organisation.
- Familiarity with case management systems or models for centralised support services.
- Understanding of budget considerations for reasonable adjustments.
- Experience in delivering change projects within health, wellbeing, or inclusion settings.
