Job description

A newly created position is available for a Health & Safety Manager at a leading UK-wide energy-from-waste organisation, located at their new site in Cheshire. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop the health & safety culture and processes for the site and the company, which has ambitious growth plans.

Responsibilities of the Health & Safety Manager:

1. Collaborate closely with the Health & Safety Director, Site Operations Director, and key stakeholders to achieve high health & safety standards.
2. Design, implement, manage, and audit all health & safety training programs.
3. Develop health & safety policies and standards for the site.
4. Identify, own, and manage the health & safety budget and KPIs, providing analysis and insights to focus on improvement opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Experience in health & safety within distribution, manufacturing, recycling, or a related high-risk environment.
2. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent is preferred; NEBOSH General Certificate holders will also be considered.
3. Familiarity with ISO standards - 45001, 14001, and 9001.
4. Strong influencing skills and a proactive attitude towards health & safety.
