Job summary

Irwin & Colton Limited is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to drive cultural change and deliver HSE and FM services across UK sites. The role reports to the QHSE Director and collaborates with Managing team members in high-risk environments.

You will engage with internal stakeholders, support development of safety protocols, manage contractors, and analyse risk data to improve safety performance. Travel nationwide is involved.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) and relevant membership of a professional body.
• Proven experience within high-risk environments such as aviation, manufacturing, logistics.
• Experience in influencing, engaging, and liaising with senior management to create cultural change on safety.

Responsibilities

• Engage with internal stakeholders to drive a positive health and safety culture.
• Support the development and delivery of technical safety protocols and improve safety function with clients.
• Support development of health and safety management systems reflecting best practice.
• Manage numerous contractors within a fast-paced environment.
• Identify data trends to analyse risk and drive risk mitigation.

Health and Safety Advisor
Location: Yorkshire/Midlands (with wider UK travel)
Salary: Up to £45,000 plus company benefits

Irwin and Colton are pleased to have been engaged by an industry-leading real estate and FM organisation who are looking to bring on board a new Health and Safety Advisor. The vacancy sits in the team that focusses on providing HSE and FM services to some of the UK's largest and most reputable organisations across high-risk and critical operating environments. The role also reports to the QHSE Director and a dotted line to the Manager within the team.

Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Advisor will include:

• Engaging with internal stakeholders to drive a positive health and safety culture, from employees right through to senior management
• Supporting the wider business units in the development and delivery of technical safety protocol, and identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of the health and safety function internally and externally with clients
• Supporting the development of health and safety management systems to ensure that it reflects best practice
• Ability to manage numerous contractors within a fast-paced environment
• The ability to identify data trends in order to analyse risk across the critical working environment and to create change to mitigate risk

The successful Health and Safety Advisor will have:

• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) and relevant membership of a professional body
• Proven experience within high-risk environments, such as aviation, manufacturing, logistics, as well as coordinating M&E contractors on site
• Experience in influencing, engaging, and liaising with senior management to create cultural change on safety
• Understanding of relevant ISO systems (ISO 45001, 14001, and 9001)
