Job summary

Principal People are recruiting a Health & Safety Advisor for central London construction projects. You will support a portfolio across commercial and residential developments, taking ownership of safety on site with an experienced team.

You will provide practical advice, drive a positive safety culture, perform inspections and audits, and work autonomously with leadership support to advance your career within a well-respected contractor.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH certificates are required.
• Experience as a Health & Safety Advisor in construction.
• Experience with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical Health & Safety advice across multiple Central London projects.
• Collaborate with Site Managers, Project Managers and operations teams to promote a proactive safety culture.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and reviews to ensure compliance with legislation and company standards.
• Build strong relationships with site teams, encouraging near-miss reporting and continuous improvement.
• Support implementation of Health & Safety initiatives and promote best practices.

Principal People are working with a leading Tier 1 Construction Contractor to recruit a Health & Safety Advisor to support a portfolio of high-profile construction projects across Central London.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and highly respected construction business, working across a diverse range of commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments.

You’ll be joining a supportive and experienced Health & Safety team, with the opportunity to take ownership of your projects, influence site safety culture and develop your career within a business that genuinely invests in its people.

What you'll be doing:

• Provide practical Health & Safety advice and support across multiple construction projects throughout Central London.
• Work closely with Site Managers, Project Managers and operational teams to promote a positive and proactive safety culture.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and reviews to ensure compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation and company standards.
• Build strong relationships with site teams, encouraging open communication, near-miss reporting and continuous improvement.
• Support the implementation of Health & Safety initiatives, challenging unsafe behaviours and promoting best practices.
• Take ownership of your projects, working autonomously while receiving support from an experienced Health & Safety leadership team.

What we're looking for:

• NEBOSH Construction Certificate or NEBOSH General Certificate.
• Previous experience working as a Health & Safety Advisor within the construction or related industry
• Ideally, experience working for a Tier 1 or established Tier 2 Main Contractor.
