Principal People Recruitment is seeking an autonomous Health & Safety Advisor for a leading Construction and Infrastructure Group operating across the North West. You will manage your own diary and work on a diverse portfolio of projects, from major buildings to highways and bridges, with project values up to GBP50m.

You'll conduct site inspections, provide practical safety guidance, and collaborate with Site Managers, Project Managers and contractors to promote safe practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction or civil engineering environments.
• NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate required.
• Able to work independently and build relationships.

Responsibilities

With a portfolio spanning commercial construction, civil engineering, infrastructure and residential development, you'll gain exposure to everything from major building developments and high‑rise construction through to highways, bridges and complex civil engineering schemes, with project values reaching GBP50m.

The Role

Working within an established Health & Safety team, you'll have the autonomy to manage your own diary and support a varied portfolio of projects, taking a practical and collaborative approach to Health & Safety.

Key responsibilities include:

• Undertaking site inspections and audits across construction and civil engineering projects.
• Providing practical Health & Safety advice and guidance to operational teams.
• Working closely with Site Managers, Project Managers and contractors to promote safe working practices.
• Supporting improvements through coaching, engagement and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Covering projects predominantly across the North West, with occasional travel into Yorkshire.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with Health & Safety professionals with experience working within construction or civil engineering environments.

You'll ideally hold a NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate, with a sound understanding of CDM Regulations and relevant construction risks.

Just as importantly, we're looking for someone who is proactive, approachable and confident working independently, with the ability to build strong relationships and take a practical, solutions‑focused approach to Health & Safety.
