Job summary

Serco Limited is recruiting on behalf of Birmingham Community Leisure Trust to hire a Health and Fitness Coach for Erdington Leisure Centre, Birmingham. You’ll deliver fitness programmes, assess members, and lead group sessions on Sundays, 1:30pm–5:30pm, earning £13.45 per hour.

You’ll support new members, help them choose activities, and maintain a welcoming gym environment while delivering excellent customer service. A Level 2 Fitness Instructor is essential.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification is essential.
• Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification is desirable but not essential.
• Good understanding of health, fitness and exercise programming.

Responsibilities

• Deliver health and fitness programmes, coaching members to achieve their goals safely and effectively.
• Conduct health and fitness assessments, including body composition, cardiovascular and strength-based evaluations.
• Support the onboarding of new members, helping them find the most appropriate activities, programmes and services.
• Lead group fitness and small group training sessions, creating motivating and engaging experiences.
• Monitor member progress, provide encouragement and make programme adjustments to support continued improvement.
• Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming gym environment while delivering excellent customer service at all times.

Vetting and checks:

This role requires a Basic DBS check, which will disclose any unspent convictions in line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to help us identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
