Job summary

Brava Education seeks a permanent Headteacher for a small independent specialist school in Derbyshire. The role is hands-on in a trauma-informed, therapeutic setting, leading the school through its next development phase.

You will set ethos, lead the curriculum and safeguarding, work with families, residential colleagues and authorities, and be backed by an experienced regional leadership team.

Qualifications

• QTS with NPQH or equivalent
• Leadership experience in a special school or complex setting
• Strong knowledge of the Independent School Standards and safeguarding
• Understanding of residential children's homes
• Experience of trauma-informed practice and SEMH
• Experience of growing a school or provision would be an advantage

Responsibilities

• Set the ethos and strategic vision of the school, and lead its improvement and growth
• Lead the curriculum and the quality of teaching and learning
• Lead safeguarding, pastoral care and SEND provision
• Ensure compliance with the Independent School Standards
• Work closely with clinical and residential colleagues, families and local authorities
