We are looking for a Headteacher for our New Acorn Education School - Bluewaters School in Coventry, Warwickshire. The school will have capacity for 60 pupils aged 11-16 years old and is due to open in May 2026. We are recruiting for a Headteacher to help set up and grow our new school.

The school will be a co-educational provision for pupils with complex needs including SEMH.

• Up to £85,000 per annum depending on experience (not pro rata)

Through your knowledge and passion, you will have a real impact on the lives of pupils and young people. As Headteacher, you will provide effective leadership and management of the school that ensures the school meets its aims and objectives and operates within the overall strategy and guidelines of Acorn Education.

About The Role

As a Headteacher, you will promote a relentless focus on high-quality, creative learning, delivering our pupils' educational needs, maximising pupil achievement, and their ability to develop.

You will have infrastructure support from central services for Finance, Resourcing, HR, and IT, including a network of supportive Headteachers from other schools alongside central school improvement support.

• Meeting all statutory requirements as defined by the DfE, Ofsted, and other external bodies, achieving the highest inspection ratings.

• The commercial success of the school, including 100% occupancy, cost management, and growth plans.
• Effective strategic and operational planning, including self-evaluation and school improvement.
• A shared vision that inspires and motivates students, staff, and the school community.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• At least three years experience as a senior leader in a specialist school for pupils with complex communication needs.
• Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.
• Willingness to extend personal and professional development.
• Ability to lead and provide a clear vision.
• Understanding that leadership encompasses pupil outcomes, staff motivation, safety, pupil recruitment, cost management, regulatory compliance, and growth planning.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

• Completion of NPQH.
• Experience in performance management.
• Experience in staff recruitment, management, and induction.
• Experience in curriculum planning across ages and abilities.
