Job description

Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) - Surrey

Why This Role Stands Out:

The clinic has state‑of‑the‑art facilities featuring an open span prep area, walk‑in kennels, and a spacious reception area designed to provide the best experience for both pets and their owners. Flexibility is key in this role, offering up to 30 hours per week, with a 1:4 branch Saturday and 1:10 Saturday rotation at the local Hospital. Full‑time hours can also be explored to suit your needs. Plus, there are no on‑call requirements, ensuring a balanced work‑life schedule.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

As a branch RVN, you will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of nursing care, assisting veterinary surgeons in theatre and during consultations, and ensuring the comfort and welfare of all pets in your care. Your duties will include:

  • Maintaining comprehensive patient hospitalisation records.
  • Ensuring equipment is cleaned, packed, sterilised, and stored correctly.
  • Managing stocks of drugs, diets, and consumables.
  • Assisting with the induction and training of new staff.
  • Providing friendly and efficient reception duties.
  • Supporting student nurses as a clinical supervisor.
Team and Progression:

Join a growing GP practice with a fantastic new senior vet and an experienced support team, including Senior RVNs, RVNs, and trainee nurses. The practice values progression and offers leadership training for those interested in senior roles within the group. Complex cases can be referred to the local hospital, ensuring your patients receive the best OOH care.

Convenient Location:

The practice is well‑connected with multiple local train stations and is within easy reach of desirable parts of London such as Richmond and Wimbledon. Parking is available, a rare find as you venture closer to London. For those who love to travel, London Gatwick Airport is just a 30‑minute drive away.

What’s in It for You:
  • Competitive salary of £32,000 to £35,000 FTE, depending on experience.
  • 6.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays (pro‑rata).
  • CPD budget and up to 2 days' paid CPD leave annually.
  • Paid 30‑minute lunch breaks.
  • Access to a private medical healthcare scheme at a reduced rate, plus medical cashback incentives.
  • 24‑hour Employee Assistance Programme.
  • RCVS and BVNA fees covered.
  • Shopping and colleague discounts
