Platinum Recruitment Consultancy in Southwold is seeking a Head Pastry Chef to lead the pastry section of a four-star hotel with a 2 AA Rosette restaurant. You will create desserts and sweet treats to the highest standards and drive the pastry team to deliver exceptional service.

The role offers a salary of £35,500 per year plus tips, a permanent 48-hour contract, pension, life assurance, share incentive plan, free meals, employee discounts, wellbeing programmes and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Strong pastry and dessert preparation skills.
• Experience managing or taking ownership of a section.
• Creativity and confidence developing new dishes.
• Hands-on and organised approach.
• Excellent attention to detail and presentation.
• Ability to remain calm during busy services.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work straight shifts, split shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present high-quality desserts, pastries and sweet treats.
• Lead the day-to-day running of the pastry section.
• Plan and introduce regular menu changes.
• Develop creative dishes using seasonal and local produce.
• Maintain the standards expected of a 2 AA Rosette restaurant.
• Manage pastry stock, ordering and wastage.
• Ensure excellent food safety, hygiene and allergen controls.
• Work closely with the wider kitchen and front-of-house teams.
• Support service across weekdays and weekends.
