Job summary

Aspire People are partnering with a multi-academy trust secondary school in Bury to appoint an experienced non-teaching Head of Year. This full-time, long-term role supports students across the school with a major focus on behaviour, attendance, pastoral support and wellbeing.

You will work with students, parents/carers and staff to address concerns, providing effective pastoral support and safeguarding. Immediate start available with interview ASAP.

Qualifications

• Experience working with secondary-aged students in behaviour, attendance or pastoral roles.
• Strong safeguarding and student wellbeing understanding.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Supporting and managing student behaviour across the year group
• Monitoring and improving student attendance and punctuality
• Providing pastoral support to students
• Working with parents/carers and school staff to address concerns
• Building positive relationships with students and supporting their wellbeing
• Working as part of the wider pastoral and safeguarding team
