Job summary

Lloyd's London Market Insurer is hiring a Head of Underwriting Management to lead the Underwriting Management Team. The role provides central support and challenge to underwriting departments, focusing on appetite, controls and regulatory expectations.

The role reports to the Underwriting Operations Officer and leads managers in Underwriting Operations and Underwriting Controls. A key point of contact with Lloyd's, the role drives change and supports business planning and governance.

Qualifications

• Extensive Lloyd's or London Market underwriting or performance management experience at leadership level.
• Hands-on experience designing and delivering underwriting controls against Lloyd's minimum standards.
• Proven people manager with ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Underwriting Management Team to provide central underwriting expertise and challenge.
• Oversee first-line controls, peer reviews, and model risk standards for pricing models.
• Drive improvements where controls need strengthening and move common activities to central team.
• Represent the team to underwriting committees and senior management; report to Board committees.
• Ensure regulatory returns are submitted on time and support annual and quarterly business cycles.
