Job summary

Simpson Recruitment Services partners with a global engineering business to appoint a Technical Author / Documentation Manager. You will lead a team to transform traditional manuals into digital, multi-channel content, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and usability across regions.

You will own content strategy, manage vendors and translations, and work with R&D, regulatory, and IT to drive a culture of continuous improvement while delivering measurable documentation KPIs.

Qualifications

• Experience in technical documentation or product information management.
• Leading a team and developing people, not just managing them.
• Documenting complex mechanical or electromechanical assemblies.
• Expertise with CMS platforms, structured authoring (DITA/XML), and digital publishing.
• Driving change across global, cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with CAD-based illustration and spare parts documentation is a plus.
• Degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Fluent English; additional languages welcome.

Responsibilities

• Lead a growing team of technical documentation professionals and set strategic direction for content creation and delivery.
• Own documentation KPIs, vendor and translation partnerships, and continuous improvement.
• Drive multi-channel publishing from print to online and interactive formats.
• Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, Regulatory, and IT to ensure accuracy and usability.
