Middlesbrough College is seeking an exceptional Head of Teaching & Learning to drive outstanding teaching, learning and assessment across the Faculty of Construction, Engineering, Motor Vehicle and TTE. Qualifications

• Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent teaching qualification).
• Substantial teaching experience within Construction, Engineering, Motor Vehicle or TTE.
• GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining up‑to‑date sector knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic and operational development of teaching, learning and assessment across the faculty, driving educational excellence and outstanding learner outcomes.
• Develop and support teaching staff through coaching, mentoring, CPD programmes and the sharing of effective practice.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives, including learning walks and the monitoring and evaluation of teaching standards.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting innovative teaching methods, educational research and technology-enhanced learning.
• Collaborate with curriculum leaders and key stakeholders to ensure programmes deliver an exceptional learner experience and meet industry and workforce needs.
