Job summary

Heron Hall Academy is seeking a dynamic Head of Sixth Form to shape the future of its growing post-16 provision. You will lead Year 12 and 13, driving academic progress while enriching the student experience and preparing learners for next steps with confidence.

Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team, you’ll collaborate with families, higher education partners and employers to deliver a high-quality Sixth Form offer within an ambitious school community.

Qualifications

• Strong experience of teaching in secondary education, including at Key Stage 5.
• Proven track record of improving outcomes and driving positive change.
• Experience leading Sixth Form or post-16 provision.
• Able to use data to identify priorities and improve student outcomes.
• Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and student wellbeing.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with students, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead the academic, pastoral and personal development of Year 12 and 13 students.
• Drive academic progress and strengthen the student experience in the Sixth Form.
• Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team and external partners to shape provision.
• Build strong relationships with families, universities, employers and apprenticeship providers.
