Job summary

Heron Hall Academy, part of North Star Community Trust, is seeking a Head of Sixth Form to lead Years 12 and 13, driving academic progress and shaping a compelling post-16 provision. You will work with the Senior Leadership Team to support student development, build partnerships with universities and employers, and raise outcomes across the Sixth Form.

Qualifications

• Strong experience of teaching in secondary education, including at Key Stage 5.
• Proven track record of improving outcomes and driving positive change.
• Experience of leading and developing Sixth Form or post-16 provision.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire, support and develop staff.
• A good understanding of post-16 curriculum, assessment and progression routes.
• The ability to use data effectively to identify priorities and improve student outcomes.
• A commitment to high expectations, inclusion, safeguarding and student wellbeing.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, staff and external partners.
• A genuine passion for helping young people succeed and move confidently into their next steps.

Responsibilities

• Lead the academic, pastoral and personal development of Year 12 and 13 students.
• Drive academic progress and strengthen the student experience.
• Develop and implement an ambitious Sixth Form offer.
• Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team and colleagues across the Academy.
