HC-One is seeking a compassionate Head of Service to lead kitchen operations in our care homes. You will be responsible for preparing meals, ensuring hygiene standards, and training staff. As Head of Service, your responsibilities will include helping to prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals that our residents will love. You'll assist in preparing cakes for the morning tea trolley and desserts for lunch. You'll demonstrate the highest standards in cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Whether maintaining food supplies and fridge/freezer temperatures, training new starters on equipment, or cleaning up spills, you'll always prioritize resident well-being.
HC-One is looking for someone with kitchen experience. You should be familiar with The Food Safety Act 1990, The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, RIDDOR, and COSHH regulations. Good record-keeping and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to follow recipes. Additionally, when communicating with residents or colleagues, you'll be considerate and kind — after all, it's in your nature.
