Job summary

ABL Health Ltd. is recruiting to lead the Wirral Stop Smoking service, delivering tailored, evidence-based support to residents aiming to quit smoking and improve health outcomes.

The role provides strategic leadership, accountability for contractual KPIs and quality standards, and leadership of multidisciplinary teams and partners to drive service development, performance reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in public health or community health services.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
• Strong governance, safeguarding and information governance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and accountability for Wirral Stop Smoking service.
• Deliver against contractual KPIs, performance targets and quality standards.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors to ensure high performance and compassionate delivery.
• Oversee communications, marketing, community engagement and lead generation to increase referrals.
• Drive service development using performance data and population insights.
• Manage workforce planning, budgets and resources for efficient delivery.
• Ensure governance, safeguarding, information governance and health and safety processes.
• Act as primary contact for commissioners and report on outcomes.

Wirral Stop Smoking service provides tailored, personalised stop smoking support to help residents quit for good. The service focuses on improving long-term health outcomes, reducing smoking-related harm, and addressing health inequalities across the borough. By targeting support towards, Provide strategic leadership and overall accountability for the Wirral Stop Smoking service, ensuring delivery against contractual KPIs, performance targets and quality standards. Lead multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors, fostering a high-performing, compassionate and inclusive culture that places service users at the centre of delivery. Oversee communications, marketing, community engagement and lead generation to increase awareness, uptake and referrals, building strong relationships with commissioners and key stakeholders. Drive service development and continuous improvement using performance data, population insights and evidence-based approaches. Manage workforce planning, service capacity, budgets and resources to ensure efficient, equitable delivery and value for money. Ensure robust governance, safeguarding, information governance, health and safety and risk management processes. Act as the primary contact for commissioners, provide high-quality performance and outcomes
reporting, and represent ABL Health at senior system and partnership forums.
