Head of School (Secondary)

Smeeth, Kent

Salary: £65,286 – £73,819 (L12 – L17)

Caldecott School is looking for a talented, dynamic, and motivated Head of School to take on this exciting role. Caldecott is a non-maintained special school with up to 85 young people on roll, aged between 5 – 16 years.

We provide high-quality education and therapeutic care for a range of needs. Our clear purpose is to make an enduring difference to our children’s lives, providing them with the knowledge, resilience and skills that prepare them for adulthood and ensure they have a better future.

Duties will include:

  • Provide daily operational leadership across Caldecott School
  • Lead of an area of responsibility within the school’s self-evaluation development plan
  • Alongside the schools Assistant Headteacher monitor and evaluate school outcomes against the standard agenda
  • Support teachers in understanding the different aspects of teaching and learning in an SEN&D school
  • Report to the Headteacher, as required.

You will need to have:

  • A commitment to providing high quality educational opportunities for pupils with a range of SEN+D needs including autism and social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • The ability to work as part of a highly effective team.
  • Strong commitment to inclusion.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A good range of IT skills.
  • Qualified Teacher Status.
