Job summary

St Leonard’s Hospice invites applications for Head of Risk & Compliance to lead governance, risk and assurance across the organisation. The role oversees risk registers, insurance, business continuity and readiness for inspections, reporting to the Director of Finance and Corporate Services.

The successful candidate will bring senior leadership in Health & Safety, risk or compliance, strong stakeholder influence, and experience managing budgets and external suppliers.

St Leonard’s Hospice is recruiting a Head of Risk & Compliance to be the organisational lead to ensure the Hospice meets all its statutory, regulatory and legal obligations by maintaining effective systems of governance, assurance and risk management.

Reporting into the Director of Finance and Corporate Services and working alongside the Health & Safety Co-ordinator, who you will manage, your main priorities as Head of Risk & Compliance will be to:

• Lead on the organisational risk management framework, risk registers and assurance processes
• Provide specialist advice on Health & Safety, risk and hazard management
• Work alongside key internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with CQC fundamental standards and coordinate the Hospice’s readiness for inspections
• Be the primary contact for insurance brokers and insurers
• Maintain the Hospice’s Business Continuity Plan

Our ideal candidates will have:

• Significant senior leadership experience in Health & Safety, Risk or Compliance
• Experience of successfully managing staff, budgets, contracts and external suppliers
• Excellent communication skills including the ability to influence and lead on organisational change

This is a full-time position based on-site, working 37.5 hours per week in office hours, Monday to Friday. The starting salary for this role is £57,861 per annum however there is pay progression.
