Job summary

Gravitas Group is seeking a Head of Rents and Service Charge to lead the team responsible for rent and service charge activities. You will provide strategic leadership and oversee processes across Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire in a hybrid setup with significant interaction with residents, leaseholders and auditors.

The role requires ensuring accurate billing, timely statements, and robust governance within housing regulation frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Rent and service charge management across all tenures.
• Lead the annual rent and service charge setting process across all tenures.
• Oversee accurate preparation and timely distribution of year‑end service charge statements.
• Drive transparency through accurate billing and clear communication to residents.
• Ensure timely resolution of rent and service charge queries and complaints.
• Plan and resource effectively throughout the year.
• Monitor performance against budgets, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Develop and maintain performance indicators to monitor service effectiveness and improve satisfaction.
• Act as the key representative for rent and service charges, managing internal and external stakeholder relationships.
• Provide timely and accurate information to operational teams and senior leadership.
• Collaborate with Finance and Asset Management teams to forecast service charge income and expenditure.

HEAD OF RENTS & SERVICE CHARGE - Up to £85,000 Base Plus Benefits - Flexible Hybrid Working with 3 Days Work from Home - Hertfordshire or Buckinghamshire

My client is an established Housing Association based across Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. They’re looking to hire a Head of Rents and Service Charge, to lead the Rents and Service Charge team provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all rent and service charge activities across the organisation.

The Head of Rents and Service Charge will act as the organisation's key representative for rent and service charge matters, building strong relationships with senior leaders, residents, leaseholders, management companies, freeholders, local authorities and auditors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Rent and service charge management
• Lead the annual rent and service charge setting process across all tenures
• Oversee accurate preparation and timely distribution of year‑end service charge statements
