Job summary

SRSUK, a Stadler Rail UK subsidiary, seeks a Head of Production to lead fleet production and maintenance activities across 24/7 operations from Leicester. You will drive safety, reliability and efficiency while managing cross-functional teams and key customer interfaces.

Significant rolling stock experience and a proven leadership track record are essential, with a focus on KPI delivery, continuous improvement and stakeholder collaboration across the business.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in rolling stock maintenance, fleet operations or large engineering environments.
• Proven track record of leading and developing teams with 5+ years of people management.
• Experience managing production, maintenance or operational activities in rail/engineering settings.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience driving operational performance via KPI management and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrable experience identifying and mitigating operational and safety risks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the Production team to deliver safe, reliable fleet operations and meet performance targets.
• Drive a safety-first culture with compliance to quality, environmental and operational standards.
• Manage day-to-day production activities to maximise fleet reliability and presentation.
• Build, coach and develop high-performing teams with effective leadership and succession planning.
• Act as the key customer and stakeholder interface for production performance and service delivery.
• Monitor and improve operational performance through KPI reporting and corrective actions.
• Champion continuous improvement to enhance reliability and maintenance efficiency.
• Lead investigations into safety, quality and performance issues with timely resolutions.
• Foster collaboration across operations, engineering and performance teams to meet business objectives.
• Provide leadership support to the wider site and participate in on-call arrangements.
