Job summary

Kisimul Group is seeking a Head of Property to lead the property team in delivering proactive maintenance and capital investment across homes, schools and service buildings.

You will design the service structure, manage internal staff and external contractors, and ensure reporting, budgeting and compliance across all properties, while developing and reporting on the ESG agenda as a key SLT member.

Qualifications

  • Degree in property-related discipline and membership of a professional industry body linked to civil engineering or surveying.
  • Experience operating in a multi-site environment with a mix of staff and external contractors.
  • Delivery and budget tracking of capital expenditure programs.
  • Leadership role in designing ESG strategy and reporting.
  • Experience procuring external services to support the function.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor the Property management team.
  • Design and deliver an optimum service structure between employed staff and external contractors.
  • Provide a facilities service aligned with service levels and improve reporting, tracking and resource allocation.
  • Take a proactive view of the portfolio to identify service improvements or added value.
  • Ensure service aligns with Contract KPI’s, especially for supported individuals.
  • Oversee MI data collation and accurate reporting for the function.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and policies (Procurement, Finance, Compliance, HR).
  • Develop and deliver the company’s ESG strategy and reporting.
  • Represent the function in Senior Leadership Team and collaborate with Executive peers.
  • Handle legal matters related to properties with legal input as needed.
  • Act as liaison with external companies managing tenancy agreements for maintenance matters.
  • Provide input to acquisition/disposal of properties.

We are recruiting for a Head of Property, to lead our property team to deliver both a pro-active and responsive maintenance and capital investment service across all of the company’s homes, schools and support service buildings.

What you’ll be doing
  • Managing and mentoring the Property management team.
  • Designing and delivering the most optimum service structure between employed staff and the use of external contractors.
  • Providing a facilities service in accordance with our service levels, identifying opportunities to improve the reporting, tracking and allocation of resources.
  • Taking a proactive view of our portfolio, identifying opportunities where service can be improved or added value realised.
  • Ensuring that the service provided is in line with Contract KPI’s, with particular focus on those for the people we support.
  • Taking responsibility for all MI data collation and accurate reporting in relation to the function.
  • Ensuring compliance with all internal procedures and policies – e.g. Procurement, Finance, Compliance, HR
  • Developing, managing and delivering the company’s ESG strategy and necessary internal and external reporting.
  • Representing the function as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and collaborating with peers and the Executive Leadership team.
  • Managing matters of a legal nature relating to our properties, engaging with our legal representatives as necessary.
  • Act as a key point of contact with the external companies who handle our Supported Living tenancy agreements, in particular the management of maintenance matters.
  • Providing professional input to the acquisition of new or disposal of existing properties.
What you’ll need
  • The post holder will be expected to hold a degree in a property related specialism along with membership of a professional industry body linked to civil engineering or surveying.
  • A demonstrable experience of operating within a multi‑site environment, optimising the balance between your employed team and the use of external contractors to deliver an excellent and cost‑efficient maintenance service across the business.
  • The post holder will have planned and then overseen the delivery of capital expenditure programs, ensuring that costs and progress are correctly budgeted and tracked, with appropriate upwards reporting.
  • Playing a leading role within your current business around the design of the organisations ESG strategy and its implementation along with internal/external reporting.
  • Experience of procuring external services to support the function in delivering to its aims.
