Job summary

ISS Facility Services seeks a Head of Projects to lead a defined Government project function, translating strategy into safe, compliant and commercially successful delivery. The role establishes team structures, resource plans, governance routines and controls to deliver a varied lifecycle, capital, construction and framework portfolio.

You will lead multi‑project delivery, manage forecasting, governance, risk, and supplier performance, and maintain HSEQ and statutory compliance.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience within multi‑project environments.
• Proven track record delivering complex projects or programs over full lifecycles.
• Strong commercial and financial management, including forecasting and change control.
• Sound knowledge of HSEQ, CDM 2015, Building Safety Act 2022 and related requirements.
• Experience implementing governance, reporting and assurance across multiple projects.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders in a matrix organisation.
• People leadership and succession planning capabilities.

We are seeking a Head of Projects to lead a defined Government project function, account or programme team, translating the Pan‑Government Projects strategy into safe, compliant and commercially successful delivery. The role is responsible for establishing team structures, resource plans, governance routines and operational controls to deliver a varied portfolio of lifecycle, capital, construction and framework opportunities. We are looking for a strategic and experienced leader who can ensure the consistent application of ISS project standards while adapting delivery to client and contract requirements. The successful candidate will be accountable for portfolio performance, project pipeline management, forecasting, resource utilisation, commercial discipline, HSEQ and statutory compliance, stakeholder confidence, risk escalation and the development of project capability across the team.

• Proven success delivering complex projects or programmes through the full project lifecycle.
• Strong commercial and financial management skills, including forecasting, cost control and change management.
• Sound knowledge of HSEQ, CDM 2015, the Building Safety Act 2022 and related statutory requirements.
• Experience implementing project governance, reporting and assurance processes across multiple projects.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead effectively within a matrix organisation.
• Strong people leadership and talent development skills, including coaching and succession planning.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience reporting to senior forums.
• Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience in a relevant discipline.
