Job summary

ISS Facility Services UK is seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to support health, safety, environmental and quality management across construction projects. You will work with Project Managers, Site Managers and subcontractors to ensure compliance with legal requirements and the OneISS Way.

You will lead inspections, review RAMS, investigate incidents and deliver safety briefings, helping drive continuous improvement across project activities and mobilisations.

Qualifications

• Experience in a project-based Health & Safety role within construction.
• Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 and construction health and safety law.
• Proven ability to lead investigations into incidents and implement actions.
• Experience with risk assessments, RAMS and safe systems of work.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder relations skills.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to support the delivery of health, safety, environmental and quality management systems across a portfolio of construction projects.

Reporting to the HSEQ Business Partner, you will work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, subcontractors and operational stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered in line with legal requirements and the OneISS Way.

Job Description

We are looking for a practical and influential HSEQ professional with a strong construction safety background, including knowledge of CDM 2015, temporary works, working at height, risk management and contractor assurance.

You will play a key role in driving compliance, promoting a positive safety culture and supporting continuous improvement across project activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct planned and unannounced site inspections, audits and assurance reviews to verify compliance with legislation, company standards and project-specific requirements.
• Review Construction Phase Plans, risk assessments, RAMS, permits and safe systems of work to ensure risks are effectively controlled.
• Support project teams in identifying hazards and implementing proportionate control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead investigations into accidents, near misses and unsafe events using root cause analysis techniques.
• Prepare statutory reports, including RIDDOR notifications where required, and ensure corrective actions are tracked through to completion.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and HSEQ awareness sessions to project teams and subcontractors.
• Support project mobilisation activities, ensuring appropriate HSEQ controls and compliance measures are established before works commence.
• Provide practical advice, guidance and assurance to project teams, supporting compliance with CDM 2015, company standards and client requirements.

About You

• Demonstrable experience in a project-based Health & Safety role within the construction industry.
• NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
• Excellent working knowledge of CDM 2015 and construction health and safety legislation.
• Experience supporting or advising on major construction projects.
• Knowledge of high-risk construction activities including working at height, temporary works and contractor management.
• Experience conducting site inspections, audits and assurance activities.
• Experience investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions.
• Strong understanding of risk assessments, RAMS and safe systems of work.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build positive working relationships.
• Ability to analyse trends, identify improvement opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• UK Driving Licence holder
• Flexibility to travel to sites (as required)
