As the Head of Project Management & Delivery Services, you will lead our delivery function, ensuring the successful execution of complex projects and programmes. You will manage a team of Project Managers and Scrum Masters, champion Agile methodologies, and oversee release and change management processes. This strategic role requires leadership, technical insight, and stakeholder engagement to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Agile Delivery Managers, Project Managers, Scrum Masters, and Delivery Professionals.
- Ensure a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and support career development plans.
- Drive Agile adoption across teams, ensuring alignment with Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid frameworks.
- Act as a champion for Agile principles, facilitating training and workshops to enhance team maturity.
- Monitor delivery metrics (e.g., velocity, cycle time) to identify risks and optimise workflows.
- Oversee end-to-end release planning, ensuring seamless coordination between development, QA, and operations.
- Govern change management processes, assessing impacts and mitigating risks to business continuity.
- Maintain robust documentation and compliance with industry-standard frameworks like ITIL.
- Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align delivery priorities with business goals.
- Provide transparent communication on project statuses, risks, and performance.
- Manage expectations and negotiate timelines with internal/external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the organisation’s delivery strategy, identifying opportunities for scaling efficiency.
- Anticipate risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
- Stay abreast of industry trends to recommend innovative tools and practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Excellent command of English - written & spoken.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Collaborative team player.
- Highly organised with a strong ability to prioritise across multiple projects.
- Experience with Agile methodology and tools like Jira.
- Proven experience in a senior delivery role (e.g., Head of Delivery, Programme Director) within IT.
- Track record of managing multidisciplinary teams (Project Managers, Scrum Masters, etc.).
- Strong expertise in Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, LeSS) and tools (Jira, Confluence).
- Experience in release management and ITIL-aligned change processes.
- Background in software development lifecycle (SDLC) environments.
- Exceptional leadership and emotional intelligence.
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to influence at C-suite level.
- Analytical problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
