Job summary

The Parker Academy, part of the E-ACT family in Daventry, is seeking an inspiring Head of PE to lead and develop an ambitious department, driving excellence in teaching and learning across the school.

You will raise attainment, nurture a passion for physical education, implement an inclusive curriculum, monitor progress, and provide robust reports to senior leaders to secure better outcomes for every pupil.

Qualifications

  • Qualified teacher status or recognised equivalent.
  • Degree in subject specialism or related subject.
  • Knowledge of National Curriculum requirements.
  • Knowledge of current education legislation, Ofsted framework and best practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the department, driving excellence in teaching, learning, curriculum development, and student outcomes.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly review an ambitious and inclusive curriculum that meets statutory requirements and supports the needs of all learners.
  • Monitor student progress and attainment across the department, using data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement.
  • Produce and present departmental performance reports, providing clear analysis and recommendations to senior leaders and stakeholders.

Pay range:
  • M1 - UPS3 £34,069 - £52,835 + TLR2c £8,913
