Job summary

The Parker E-ACT Academy in Daventry invites applications for an inspiring Head of PE to lead and develop an ambitious department, drive excellence in teaching and learning, and raise attainment across key stage 3-5.

With QTS and a degree in a PE-related discipline, you will develop an inclusive curriculum, monitor progress, and report on department performance. The post offers a competitive M1-UPS3 scale and a TLR2c on top.

Qualifications

  • Qualified teacher status or recognised equivalent.
  • Degree in subject specialism or related subject.
  • Knowledge of National Curriculum requirements.
  • Knowledge of current education legislation, Ofsted framework and best practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the department, driving excellence in teaching, learning, curriculum development, and student outcomes.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly review an ambitious and inclusive curriculum that meets statutory requirements and supports the needs of all learners.
  • Monitor student progress and attainment across the department, using data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement.
  • Produce and present departmental performance reports, providing clear analysis and recommendations to senior leaders and stakeholders.

Pay range:
  • M1 - UPS3 £34,069 - £52,835 + TLR2c £8,913
