Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Payroll to join their expanding team. This role offers the opportunity to take charge of multiple payrolls for a workforce of 10,000 employees. You will be responsible for managing a team of seven payroll staff, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all operations. This is an exciting opportunity to implement new processes and procedures, and contribute significantly to the organisation's success.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage a team of 7 payroll staff
  2. Ensure payroll deadlines are met consistently
  3. Perform pre-payroll checks and ensure 100% accuracy in the monthly run
  4. Complete payroll reconciliations regularly
  5. Deliver weekly and monthly reports
  6. Ensure over-payments are recouped efficiently
  7. Resolve complex payroll queries
  8. Handle P11D's and year-end duties
  9. Implement new processes and procedures within the department
  10. Conduct weekly meetings, staff reviews, and appraisals
What you bring:
  • Extensive experience in payroll management in a high-volume environment
  • Proven ability to manage a payroll department effectively
  • Practical knowledge of recent payroll legislation
  • Strong leadership skills and experience conducting staff reviews and appraisals
  • Experience implementing new processes and procedures
  • Ability to resolve complex payroll-related queries efficiently
