Job summary

1st Formations, a leading UK provider of company formation and compliance services, is seeking a commercially minded Head of Operations to drive day-to-day performance across customer sales, retention, service, mail, Co Sec and serviced offices. You will translate strategic priorities into practical plans and lead function managers to deliver scalable, efficient, and commercially successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Commercially astute operator with experience in multi-disciplinary or multi-entity service businesses.
• Experience coordinating diverse business units with performance accountability.
• Strong data-led leadership translating plans into measurable execution.
• Collaborative leader building alignment across diverse teams and raising standards.
• Experience in regulated, professional services or compliance-led environments.

Responsibilities

• Own operating strategy and day-to-day performance across customer sales, retention, service, mail, Co Sec, and serviced offices.
• Set operating cadence: targets, workflows and standards for all customer-facing teams.
• Build and own reporting and KPI framework with real-time visibility into performance and risk.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration and resolve bottlenecks in customer journeys.
• Partner with the CEO to evaluate growth opportunities and scale readiness.
• Develop and coach function managers and leaders with clear ownership and accountability.
• Work with Product on operational improvements, automation, and migration to the new platform.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and robust governance across all activities.
• Develop a high-performance culture grounded in accountability and continuous improvement.
• Support resilience and regulatory adherence across the Group.
