Job description

Location: UK office (Sponsorship available)

Job Purpose:

The Head of Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and driving the company’s operational strategy, performance, and service delivery across all regions. This role ensures the efficient and effective execution of contracts, alignment of operations with company objectives, and consistently high levels of client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with hands-on operational expertise, capable of leading teams, driving continuous improvement, and scaling operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the operations function across all service lines (e.g., cleaning, maintenance, security, support services).
  • Develop and execute operational plans that support the company’s growth, profitability, and service quality goals.
  • Oversee regional and national operations teams, ensuring consistent and high-quality delivery across all client sites.
  • Lead the mobilisation and implementation of new contracts, ensuring seamless onboarding and client satisfaction.
  • Monitor and manage KPIs, SLAs, budgets, and compliance to ensure performance and contractual obligations are met or exceeded.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and innovation across all areas of the business.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation plans related to service delivery, compliance, and resource management.
  • Build strong client relationships at senior levels, acting as a key point of contact for operational matters.
  • Collaborate closely with departments such as HR, Finance, Sales, and Compliance to ensure alignment of operational goals.
  • Support commercial bids and tenders with operational input, site assessments, and costings.
  • Lead, coach, and develop operational leadership to build a high-performing and engaged team.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Facilities Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of senior operations leadership experience, ideally within facilities management, soft services, or multi-site service environments.
  • Proven track record of leading large teams, managing complex contracts, and delivering consistent operational results.
  • Strong understanding of UK compliance, health & safety regulations, and quality management standards.
  • Experience in managing change, driving strategic initiatives, and leading through growth phases.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to execute effectively.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Commercially savvy and client-focused.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical thinker with sound problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and results-driven approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and operations/ERP systems.

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based with regular travel to regional offices and client sites across the UK.
  • May require flexible working hours depending on operational needs.
