Job summary

L&Q is seeking a strategic Head of Operational Support to lead Fleet, Materials and Logistics across Maintenance Services. You will direct teams, manage a £20m budget and drive data‑driven improvements to deliver first‑visit repairs and excellent customer outcomes.

Reporting to the Director of Maintenance Operations, you will champion supplier performance, governance and cost efficiency while building high‑performing teams in a large housing maintenance operation.

Qualifications

• Strategic, commercially minded leader with experience in large-scale fleet, materials, logistics or operational support services.
• Proven track record of delivering efficient, high-quality operational services.
• Experience managing budgets, procurement and commercial contracts.
• Strong people leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
• Data-driven decision making and ability to drive improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Fleet and Materials teams, promoting performance and continuous improvement.
• Own and deliver Fleet and Materials strategies to support goals.
• Manage supplier performance, procurement and compliance to deliver value for money.
• Oversee a circa £20m budget with strong financial control.
• Use operational data to drive performance, efficiency and improvement.
• Ensure fleet, materials and logistics are safe, compliant and fit for purpose.
• Drive innovation and transformation to support Maintenance Services.
