Sparkling opportunity for a Head of Merchandising!

Here at Signet, we’re looking for a talented Head of Merchandising for our luxury offices in Croxley Park Watford on a hybrid basis.

As Head of Merchandise Planning for H. Samuel and Ernest Jones, you’ll work in partnership with our teams to turn data into insight, building a strong customer-focused range aligned with our Brand Value Proposition while driving sales performance across all channels. You’ll manage a team of Merchandise Planners responsible for one or several product divisions. Our Merchandise Planning team must ensure compliance with the “Go to Market” process and timelines to deliver the right product in the right stores at the right time, supported by the right customer messaging.

Our ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of high-end watches and jewellery, with robust understanding of merchandising, B&M systems, supply chain, and quality control.

About the role

• Develop and implement a jewellery strategy for the brand, supporting the company strategy and delivering profitable market share growth, through analysis of performance, market data, and customer insights, in conjunction with the Director of Merchandise Planning, Director of Product, and Head of Product and Trading.
• Maximise and drive sales and profitability of all jewellery product groups for H. Samuel and Ernest Jones by effectively planning stock, budgeting, stock turn, and availability.
• Lead and manage a team of merchandise planners, ensuring recruitment, induction, training, development, performance management, and succession planning processes are embedded within all jewellery merchandising areas, with a focus on performance and engagement.

About you

• Understanding of key metrics underpinning a best-in-class merchandising function.
• Good knowledge of high-end watches and jewellery.
• Proficiency with merchandising, B&M systems, supply chain, and quality control.
• Strong commercial awareness with an in-depth understanding of retail drivers.
• Highly numerate with analytical thinking skills to present, communicate, and influence at all levels.
