Our client, a leading Trade Association based in Southwark, Central London, is seeking a Head of Membership Engagement to join their team.

The Role of Head of Membership Engagement

Working under the direction of the Executive Director, the postholder will be responsible for developing and delivering membership engagement, recruitment, and retention strategies to ensure the organization continues to:

• Deliver excellent support to members
• Ensure retention of current members
• Increase recruitment of new members

Duties and Responsibilities

• Review current approach to membership engagement, recruitment, and retention, and devise strategies to strengthen these areas
• Build and maintain strong relationships with members at a senior level
• Identify prospective companies for membership
• Implement a membership growth strategy targeting prospective members across the UK, with annual growth targets
• Engage with existing and prospective members at CEO/exec level
• Communicate membership benefits effectively
• Respond to queries regarding member benefits
• Develop processes and systems to enhance the member experience
• Create feedback loops and collaborate with team members
• Design and execute an annual Membership Survey
• Manage new membership applications and renewals, working with the Finance Director on rates and payments
• Coordinate meetings, including minute-taking and action tracking
• Promote activities and resources via website, communications, and other channels

Person Specification – Knowledge and Experience

• Significant experience in growing membership and managing membership services within similar organizations
• Experience in administrative process improvement
• Strategic planning and business development skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at senior levels
• Experience managing CRM databases

The role requires strong networking and teamwork skills, with flexibility to attend events across England and Wales. The position is primarily based in London.
