Job summary

Haringey Council is seeking an experienced Head of Mechanical & Engineering Services to lead the delivery, development and compliance of mechanical, electrical, gas and water safety services across our housing stock and corporate property.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Repairs & Compliance, you will provide strategic leadership for a team of about 23 staff, manage major projects, secure funding and drive continuous improvement while collaborating with contractors, consultants and

• Qualified and/or suitably experienced engineering professional with substantial background in leading complex mechanical and engineering services.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery, development and compliance of mechanical, electrical, gas and water safety services across housing stock and corporate properties.
• Provide professional leadership across a diverse service area and drive service improvement and capital/revenue programmes.
• Manage major projects, contractor performance and budget, and implement innovative engineering solutions.
• Foster collaboration with internal departments, contractors, consultants, supply chain partners and elected members to ensure safety, compliance and customer service.
