Job summary

Oakfield Short Stay School, Leicestershire County Council, is seeking a Maths teacher to work across sites delivering engaging lessons to pupils at risk of exclusion.

You will teach Maths in a creative, trauma-informed manner for diverse needs, helping to reintegrate learners back into mainstream education and collaborating with educational psychologists and SEN coordinators. A DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher status (QTS) with Maths specialization preferred.
• Experience working with pupils with SEN in secondary settings.
• Experience teaching pupils with challenging SEMH needs.
• Experience in educational development and planning.
• Knowledge of SEN legislation and county SEN policy and procedures.
• Ability to lead and support staff in delivering high-quality teaching.
• Effective IT skills to develop service delivery and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Teach Maths to groups of pupils with diverse needs.
• Assist in reintegrating pupils back into mainstream schools.
• Collaborate with educational psychologists, SEN coordinators, and external agencies.
• Promote inclusion and ensure all pupils feel valued and supported.

Education

Qualified teacher status (QTS) with Maths specialization preferred
