Head of Marketing

Location: Office-based role - Greater London

Salary: £140,000 + package

Middlemore has been exclusively retained by an exciting tech start-up, which is recruiting for a Head of Marketing. This is a unique opportunity to be at the inception of something special, laying the initial building blocks for a business with exciting growth plans.

We're seeking a visionary, hands-on Head of Marketing to join my client at the ground floor of their new European division. As the second hire, you will partner closely with senior leadership to shape and launch a suite of brands that will define the future of my client across Europe.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Brand Building: Lead the creation, positioning, and storytelling of new and existing brands across multiple European markets.
  • Audience Growth: Drive multi-channel strategies focused on organic and social-led growth to build and engage a passionate community.
  • Go-to-Market: Develop and execute marketing plans for new product and service launches with a focus on speed, creativity, and data-driven experimentation.
  • Content & Social: Own the content strategy across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, email, and more), becoming the authentic voice of their brands.
  • Business Acumen: Manage marketing budgets for maximum impact, set and track KPIs, and use data to guide decisions.
  • Website Optimisation: Implement strategies to boost website engagement and retention.
  • Trendspotting: Leverage the latest marketing technologies and trends-including AI-powered search, to keep them ahead of the curve.
  • Team Leadership: Build and inspire a high-performing marketing team, including managing agencies and partners.
  • Customer Obsession: Stay deeply connected with the community to ensure marketing reflects their needs and passions.

  • Start-up Mentality: Thrive in early-stage, high-growth environments and know how to build from zero.
  • Builder & Doer: Equally comfortable crafting campaigns and setting strategy.
  • Digital Native: Deep expertise in social media, digital marketing, and emerging trends; hands-on with tools like Meta Ads Manager and Google Analytics.
  • Track Record: Proven success building brands and audiences, ideally in B2C, lifestyle, or consumer goods sectors.
  • Creative + Analytical: Balance creative flair with a performance-driven approach.
  • Collaborative Leader: Low-ego, team player, excited to co-create with brands, teams, and partners.
  • Bonus: Experience with DTC/eCommerce and a network in the lifestyle creator space.
