Job summary

West Northamptonshire Council is seeking an experienced events professional to lead the development and delivery of its major events portfolio across the region. The role focuses on creating a vibrant, accessible and financially sustainable events offering for residents and visitors.

You will drive procurement, strategic planning and partnership working to attract new events and grow the Council's portfolio while ensuring safety, compliance and positive social, cultural and economic impact.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of event management, licensing legislation, health and safety requirements, and emergency and contingency planning.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale festivals and events.
• Experience working in a public sector environment and building business cases.

Responsibilities

• Lead on procuring and awarding contracts for major event promoters and related organisations.
• Strategic planning, coordination, delivery and evaluation of the major events portfolio.
• Drive continuous improvement across the events programme, including workforce development, volunteering, affordability and accessibility.
• Ensure events deliver measurable social, cultural and economic outcomes while remaining inclusive and financially sustainable.
