Job description

Our client is a multinational company seeking a Head of Legal to oversee all legal, compliance, and data protection matters across their UK legal entities. This role also includes responsibilities as the company secretary. The ideal candidate must possess knowledge of public procurement law in the UK.

Location and Working Policy

Based in Enfield, North London, the company adopts a hybrid working policy, preferring employees to work in the office 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and support the legal department
2. Draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements
3. Provide effective legal advice, ensuring compliance with laws and adherence to legal and compliance processes
4. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across departments
5. Develop strategies with the business in case of disputes
6. Manage external law firms and counsel
7. Manage a legal team of 3 members

Candidate Requirements

1. English-qualified solicitor with at least 7 years of post-qualification experience (PQE)
2. Profound knowledge of UK public procurement law
3. Experience working closely with Compliance and Data Protection Officers
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
5. Strong commercial and business acumen

While the client ideally seeks candidates with at least 7 years PQE, applications from candidates with relevant experience outside this range will also be considered.
