Job description

Job Title: Head of Legal

Our client is a multinational company seeking a Head of Legal to oversee all legal, compliance, and data protection matters for their UK legal entities. This role also includes responsibilities as a Company Secretary. The ideal candidate must possess knowledge of public procurement law in the UK.

Location: Enfield, North London (hybrid working policy: 3 days in the office per week)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and support the legal department
2. Draft and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts and agreements
3. Provide legal advice ensuring compliance with laws and internal processes
4. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across departments
5. Develop dispute resolution strategies in collaboration with the business
6. Manage external law firms
7. Manage a legal team of 3 members

Candidate Profile:

1. English-qualified solicitor with at least 7 years post-qualification experience (PQE)
2. Profound knowledge of UK public procurement law
3. Experience working with Compliance Officers and Data Protection Officers
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
5. Strong commercial and business acumen

While 7+ years PQE is preferred, the client is open to considering candidates with relevant experience outside this range.
