A leading consumer brand firm in Guildford is seeking an experienced IP and Marketing lawyer to join as Head of Legal. You will manage IP and Marketing matters, working closely with the CMO on initiatives, and protecting the brand portfolio. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in IP law, particularly with luxury brands and can manage a small team. This is a unique opportunity within the EMEA legal team.

The Opportunity

A unique opportunity now exists for an experienced IP and Marketing lawyer to join as Head of Legal for these areas. Reporting to the Legal Director, you will play a key role in managing IP and Marketing matters from a legal perspective for the business, working closely with the CMO and leading on marketing initiatives. This will incorporate digital and AI matters, especially as AI continues to evolve for the business. You will also manage the IP portfolio, leading on the anti-counterfeiting agenda and the protection of brands and IP assets.

This is an exciting opportunity for an IP lawyer to join a luxury consumer brands business in a key role for the EMEA legal team.

About You

The position will best suit an experienced IP lawyer with marketing and strong brands experience. Extensive experience working closely with consumer, retail, FMCG or luxury brands is key, ideally from an in-house perspective. Any digital, data privacy and AI experience will also be very useful. The ability to manage a small team is also essential, as is the ability to establish highly effective working relationships across a global business.

The position will suit an individual who enjoys developing relationships, solving problems and working with brands.
