Job summary

Unknown UK Law Firm seeks a Head of Knowledge Management to establish and develop a modern KM function across the firm. This role leads strategy from discovery through to adoption, covering legal know-how, precedents, templates, governance, search and knowledge sharing.

Working with Partners, Practice Groups, Knowledge Lawyers, IT, Data, AI and Innovation, the post holder will shape how knowledge is captured, maintained, found and reused across the firm.

Qualifications

• Strong KM experience in a law firm or professional services.
• Experience delivering KM projects or transformation.
• Good understanding of legal knowledge, precedents and know-how.
• Experience with knowledge systems, document management and/or enterprise search.
• Strong stakeholder management and change management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the firm-wide Knowledge Management strategy from discovery to implementation.
• Oversee governance, precedents, templates and knowledge sharing.
• Work with IT, Data, AI and Innovation teams to enable technology-enabled KM.
• Collaborate with Partners and Practice Groups to drive adoption.

Our client, a leading UK law firm ranked as one of the best companies to work for in the country, is seeking a Head of Knowledge Management to establish and develop a modern Knowledge Management function across the firm. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a firm-wide Knowledge Management transformation, moving the business from fragmented knowledge practices towards a consistent, technology-enabled approach. The Head of Knowledge Management will lead the Knowledge Management strategy from discovery through to implementation and adoption, covering legal know-h, precedents, templates, governance, search and knowledge sharing. Working closely with Partners, Practice Groups, Knowledge Lawyers, IT, Data, AI and Innovation teams, the Head of Knowledge Management will help shape how knowledge is captured, maintained, found and reused across the firm.

Essential skills

• Strong Knowledge Management experience within a law firm or professional services environment
• Experience delivering Knowledge Management projects or transformation
• Good understanding of legal knowledge, precedents and know-h
• Experience working with knowledge systems, document management and/or enterprise search
• Strong stakeholder management and change management skills

Experience with iManage / Insight+, Knowledge Lawyers / PSLs, metadata, governance, Legal Tech or AI would be advantageous but is not essential. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Knowledge Manager, Senior Knowledge Manager, Head of Knowledge, Knowledge Lawyer or PSL who wants to take ownership of a strategic Knowledge Management function and help build it from the ground up.
