Job summary

Essex Police and Kent Police are seeking a Head of IT Solutions to lead the software development, application management and solutions support teams across over 500 solutions for 14,000+ officers and staff. You will set strategic direction, oversee major programmes and ensure secure, resilient services that meet user needs.

The role sits on the IT Senior Management Team, driving digital strategy and cross-forces transformation while managing external partners and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience in a large technology-enabled organisation.
• Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, suppliers and partners.
• Experience delivering substantial technology portfolios and transformation programmes.
• Ability to translate priorities into clear technology direction and deliverables.
• Strong understanding of software development, application management and modern delivery practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction across the full solution lifecycle from development to retirement.
• Lead major programmes including Intelligent Automation, ERP and Data Transformation across Kent and Essex Police.
• Ensure systems are secure, resilient, performant and user-centred.
• Influence strategy, investment and priorities in collaboration with senior stakeholders.
