Job summary

Joshua Robert Recruitment Limited is partnering with a fast-growing organisation to appoint a Head of IT Operations in Birmingham. You will own the technology function, set IT strategy and lead a talented team, working with the senior leadership to drive transformation and deliver value across the business.

You will drive cloud migration, automation and new systems to improve processes, while strengthening cyber security, data protection and business continuity.

Qualifications

• Senior IT leadership experience in a large or growing business.
• Proven track record delivering IT strategy and transformation projects.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, infrastructure, networks and cyber security.
• Experience managing budgets, suppliers and contracts.
• Ability to communicate complex tech concepts to non-technical colleagues.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Setting and delivering an IT strategy that supports the company's growth plans
• Leading, developing and inspiring the IT team, building a culture of ownership and continuous improvement
• Driving digital transformation, from cloud migration and automation to new systems that make people's jobs easier
• Overseeing infrastructure, networks, applications and service delivery so the business runs smoothly every day
• Strengthening cyber security, data protection and business continuity
• Managing the IT budget, suppliers and contracts to get the best value and service
• Working with leaders across the business to understand their challenges and find the right technology solutions
• Keeping the business ahead of the curve by exploring new tools, including AI and data-driven solutions

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Proven experience leading an IT function or team at a senior level
• A track record of delivering IT strategy and transformation projects
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, infrastructure, networks and cyber security
• Experience managing budgets, suppliers and third-party contracts
• A confident communicator who can explain technology in plain English to non-technical colleagues
• A natural leader who motivates people and builds high-performing teams
• Commercially minded, with a focus on how technology can drive business results
• Relevant qualifications such as ITIL, Microsoft, AWS or cyber security certifications are a bonus
