University of Brighton is seeking a Head of International Admissions and Conversion in Brighton. The role leads the international student journey from application to enrolment, shaping the team, operations and data-informed processes to deliver excellent applicant experiences and strong enrolment outcomes.

You will oversee compliance, CAS and sponsor processes, and work with diverse partners to support sustainable international growth.

Head of International Admissions and Conversion at Brighton

This exciting new role will be based in the International Office, supporting to build and shape a new function supporting the University’s ambitions for sustainable international growth. The International Office leads the University’s international strategy and global engagement, bringing together expertise across the international student journey, from market development and recruitment through to application, admissions, conversion and pre-arrival support.

As Head of International Admissions and Conversion, you will provide strategic leadership across the international student journey from application through to enrolment, shaping the team, operating model and processes to deliver an outstanding applicant experience and strong enrolment outcomes. You will use data, forecasting and market insight to improve conversion and performance, working closely with International Recruitment, Colleges, Professional Services, education agents, pathway providers and international partners.

A key part of the role will be compliance and managing high-risk activity. You will lead international admissions compliance, overseeing CAS processes, credibility and genuine student assessments, immigration compliance checks and sponsor compliance risks, ensuring the University meets its UKVI responsibilities. You will also play a key role in the development of admissions systems and digital capability, using your knowledge of SIT system development to support an effective, efficient and data-informed international admissions service.

About you:

You will be an experienced higher education professional with significant experience in international admissions, conversion, enrolment or student recruitment, with a strong understanding of the international student journey and UKVI requirements.

You will bring:

  • Experience of leading and developing teams and delivering against performance targets.
  • Strong knowledge of international admissions and the end-to-end international student journey.
  • Experience of managing compliance, risk and high-risk international applications, including UKVI and CAS processes.
  • Experience of using data, forecasting and insight to improve conversion and enrolment.
  • Experience of service improvement, organisational change and admissions systems.
  • Knowledge of SITs system development and the ability to work with digital and student information systems to improve service delivery.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, influencing and leadership skills.
