The Welsh Government is recruiting for a Head of Information Rights Unit. The role leads the Information Rights Unit, ensuring compliance with DPA, UK GDPR, FOIA and PECR across Welsh Government.

Based in Pan Wales with hybrid working, and line management responsibility for 2 EO Caseworkers, the post offers development in information rights, governance and stakeholder engagement. Applicants will provide strategic guidance, advice officials, and ensure robust information rights practices while

Formación

• Experience in information rights, data protection, FOI and privacy governance.
• Understanding of DPA, UK GDPR, FOIA, PECR and related legislation.

Responsabilidades

• Lead drafting policy on Information Rights and Data Protection.
• Provide timely guidance on data protection in WG policy and security.
• Advise on handling FOI requests and information management obligations.
• Mentor IRU team members and manage two EO Caseworkers.
• Keep guidance updated with changes in legislation and case law.
• Support Ministers and senior officials with complex information rights issues.
