Job summary

Principal People are delighted to partner with a growing organisation to appoint a Head of Health, Safety and Environment. This is a multi-site, on-site leadership role that will drive a strong safety culture, risk management and compliance across diverse locations.

You will report to senior leaders and shape HSE strategy, oversee facilities and security operations, and lead a high-performing team. The role offers significant autonomy and opportunity for progression within a dynamic logistics

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 HSE qualification.
• Extensive HSE experience within logistics, distribution, FMCG, manufacturing or warehouse retail.
• Proven multi-site management experience.
• Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, risk management, audits and management systems.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management across sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the HSE, Facilities and Security strategy across multiple sites.
• Provide expert advice to Senior Leaders on all HSE, Facilities and Security matters.
• Lead development and maintenance of HSE policies, procedures and management systems including risk assessments, COSHH, SSOW and permit-to-work processes.
• Oversee accident and near-miss investigations, audits, regulatory visits and corrective actions.
• Lead Facilities Management across multiple locations, including preventative maintenance, statutory inspections and compliance.
• Manage contractors and suppliers, ensuring risk assessments, permits, compliance registers and performance management.
• Develop and implement the organisation's security strategy, including access control, CCTV and incident response.
• Lead, coach and develop the HSE, Facilities and Security teams, building capability through mentoring, training and succession planning.
