Job summary

Vintage.com is seeking a Head of Health & Safety to lead the strategy across multiple UK sites, warehouses and offices. You will act as the senior safety expert, partner with site leaders and ensure compliance with UK legislation while advancing a proactive safety culture.

This hands-on role requires risk assessment, investigations, training and KPI reporting across Europe, with regular travel between sites to embed practical controls and ownership of safety across the operation.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading health and safety within a multi-site organisation.
• Strong experience working in warehouses, logistics, manufacturing or production.
• Extensive knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and practical application.
• Experience developing and implementing health and safety strategies, policies and management systems.
• Proven ability in risk assessment, audits, incident investigation and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of our health and safety strategy across the business.
• Act as the senior subject matter expert, giving clear and practical advice to senior leaders and operational teams.
• Build strong relationships with site leaders and managers, creating clear accountability for health and safety at every level.
• Lead risk assessments, audits, inspections and assurance activity across our warehouses, production environments and offices.
• Identify and implement practical control measures, prioritising action based on risk.
• Lead investigations into significant incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and ensuring actions are completed.
• Maintain systems for tracking incidents, risks, actions, audits and training.
• Maintain a robust health and safety management framework that supports compliance across UK operations.
• Keep policies, procedures and guidance current and aligned with legislation and best practice.
• Ensure statutory reporting and record-keeping requirements are understood and completed.
• Work with local teams and partners to support health and safety compliance across Europe.
• Build a positive safety culture with proactive reporting and continuous improvement.
• Develop training and guidance to enhance responsibilities among managers and staff.
• Coach leaders to own health and safety within their areas.
• Analyze incidents and data to identify trends and risks; establish KPIs for leadership reporting.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen systems and controls as the business grows.
